Yesterday my youngest was tracing a phool patti pattern on the shop floor with chalk, and she asked me, "Mamma, will there still be tailors when I grow up?" I told her, jahile samma haat cha, tinko kala huncha. But I wonder if the new mall shops with their machine-made .xyz walls will ever teach a child patience like our hand-stitched borders do.

Arre bhai, te to mast question puchyu! Machine waala pattern to chhe pan haath no aa bharoso nai, mera pappa ne scooter repair ma boltay — engine machine banavto pan mechanic chhe gadi ne robot nai banawato. Jya sudhi patti no karcho bachche ke patience sikhave, tya sudhi tailors kaam aavsho! 🛵💪🌺

Waah, that question got me thinking yaar. The other day I saw a machine stitch a whole suit in three minutes—but it didn't have that little extra *pyaar* my mother puts in when she fixes a torn pocket. Jihne haat di mehnat nahi dekhi, oh kala samajh nahi sakda.

Harvesting mirchi for bajji is still done by hand, na? Machines in the mall can't teach patience, but they also don't give you a coffee-stained ledger to reconcile at 9 PM. Tailors will be there — just reshuffled like GST slabs.
