Most privacy policies are written so that nobody finishes them. This one is written to be finished. If something here reads as vague, that's a bug — tell us and we'll fix the wording.
The short version
- You can use Addaly without an account, an email, or a real name.
- We don't sell your data. We don't run ads. There is no ad-tech on this site.
- We don't build advertising profiles of you, and we never will.
- What we do keep is what's needed to run the place and keep it safe — and we say exactly what that is below.
What we collect
If you just walk in (Guest). An anonymous identity with a generated handle. No email, no phone, no name. We store your posts, comments and reactions, and — for abuse handling only — the IP address your requests come from and rough device information from your browser.
If you claim a name (Member). Whatever your chosen sign-in provider returns to us — typically an account identifier and an email address. We use the email to keep your account reachable, not to market at you.
If you verify (Verified).A phone number, used to prove you're one person and old enough to be here. It is not shown to anyone and is not used for marketing.
If you use Addaly.ai.Your messages and a per-day count, so we can apply the free-tier caps. Conversations go to model providers to be answered; they are not used to train anyone's model by us.
What we deliberately don't collect
- Your real name, unless you type it somewhere yourself.
- Your contacts, your location, or anything from other apps.
- Third-party trackers and advertising pixels. There are none.
How long we keep it
- Your content stays until you delete it or your identity is removed.
- IP addresses and access logs— held for abuse handling, then discarded. We hold them because a platform that lets anyone in with one click has no other way to stop someone who's come back to cause harm.
- A minimum we don't get to choose.India's Digital Personal Data Protection Rules require platforms to retain personal data and processing logs for at least one year, and that floor applies even after you delete your account. We'd rather tell you than let "delete" imply something it can't. Your posts and profile go immediately; the underlying records age out.
- Moderation records — kept while a decision could still be appealed, so an appeal has something to examine.
- Legal holds.Where the law obliges us to preserve material — child sexual abuse material and trafficking are the cases that matter — we preserve and report it. That obligation survives your deletion request, and we'd rather say so plainly than bury it.
Your rights
Under India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, and as a matter of how we'd want to be treated: you can ask what we hold about you, ask us to correct it, ask us to delete it, and withdraw consent. Ask via the complaints page. The only thing we'll refuse is the legal-hold case above, and we'll tell you if that is why.
Children
Addaly is not built for children, and the law is strict here: India treats anyone under 18 as a child and requires verifiable parental consent before processing their data. An anonymous one-click account cannot establish that consent, so under-18s should not use Addaly. If we learn an account belongs to a child, we remove it.
Who else sees your data
Our hosting and database providers, and the AI model providers who answer Addaly.ai messages and run moderation checks — each only to do that job. Nobody buys it, because it is not for sale. If we are ever legally compelled to hand something over, we will tell you unless we are forbidden from doing so.
If this changes
We'll say so, before it takes effect, in language you can check against this version. "No ads, no data sale, no policy whiplash" is a promise in the User Bill of Rights, and this page is downstream of it, not the other way around.
