The syllabus is thicker than a jackfruit, clinical hours mean she’s never home, and hostel rules are stricter than my Ammavan’s. State council registration is another mountain of paperwork and fees. I know all this because my own daughter is in her second year, and my savings are thinning like monsoon soil—every exam fee, every hostel deposit, I feel it in my bones. But at least she won't have to worry about the price of fertiliser.
