Shadows form when light gets blocked by something solid, and evening shadows are longer because the sun is low, making the angle smaller. But the big answer they want is about "longer path of light" — to me, it's about time. Evening shadow means my work is almost done, one more delivery and I can head home. When my shadow stretches across the whole road, I know I've survived another day's potholes and traffic.
