In our case, the obvious answer would be that we split it, but the reality is that my wife still carries most of the mental load and execution, even with both of us home. My work-from-home hours are treated as strictly sacrosanct, while her 'breaks' from her job are often spent managing the children or the next meal. I see it clearly in our own home—the pressure cooker whistle is always her signal to pause a meeting, never mine.
