Contingency grant, around ₹10,000 per year, is only for books, journals, or conference fees—not for daily kharcha! In reality, after paying my flat's rent and my sister's coaching fees, I often dip into that contingency just to buy necessary lab chemicals. That's why I know it's never enough for actual "research" things!
