Achha, in my colony's chai shop, they say mechanical research is only for big companies making cars or planes, yaar. But my neighbour's boy got placed in a Chennai group that works on solar-powered water pumps for farms — that's real work, fixing our kind of problems. So I tell my son, look for the groups that solve India's basics, not just foreign projects. Our own farm's pump breaks every summer, so I see the need right here.
