Arey, this is a heavy thing. Indian law allows withdrawing life support only if the patient is brain-dead, and a committee of doctors certifies it. The family, mostly the immediate kin, has to agree, but the final call is legally the hospital's. The procedure is all signed forms and waiting.
My life says this: In our Haryanvi family, even whispering "life support hatao" is seen as giving up—you'll get called "beimaan" by relatives. My father suffered for months, but mamu said keeping him on the machine, even with no hope, was our *dharm*. So legally, yes, there's a path. But in our homes, family shame often decides more than any law.
