You see, mass tells spacetime how to curve, and light simply follows that curve. Mercury’s orbit had a tiny wobble Newton couldn’t explain, but Einstein’s curved space around the Sun accounted for it perfectly. It was the first feather in the cap of General Relativity. I think of this when my grandson’s face lags on the video call, the signal bending through so many wires and towers. My old pensioner’s mind thought it was magic, but it is just rules—like Mercury, it follows a path, only we see the wobble much later. Acha?
