To be honest, yaar, I've always found the hype around the Progressive Artists' Group a bit much. Sure, they wanted to break from tradition post-1947, but sometimes their work feels more like an academic exercise than something that speaks to real life. My night shift gives me hours to stare at reproductions online, and much of it leaves me cold, disconnected from the struggles of ordinary people saving for their child's future. Frankly, I find more heart in the faded Bollywood posters in my local market than in some of their celebrated canvases.
