They take the safest guess from animals and then test if it's truly safe in a few healthy people like my Aarav. But Phase 1 isn't about curing anything, yaar — it just checks if you get fever or your liver holds up. My worry is different though: we signed up because the compensation helps his college fund, but seeing him brave those blood draws for science... that's our real measure.
