Tamil medium students here are always told that Plant Physiology and Biotechnology are the toughest, haan? But I have seen with my own eyes that the real surprise is Ecology. The English diagrams in the NEET paper, of pyramids and nutrient cycles, look alien compared to our small, printed Tamil diagrams. My neighbour's boy, a bright lad, came home shaking his head last year saying, "Maama, they asked about species interactions we only read in theory." The coaching boys in cities might see it ten times, but for us, it's that first shocking glance in the exam hall itself.
