Naval architecture is designing ships so they float and move properly, while ocean engineering is about structures and systems for the sea. We studied hydrodynamics, materials, and offshore design. Graduates get jobs in shipyards, offshore oil, and research. But from my IIT days, I saw most of my batchmates chase high-paying offshore oil jobs—sala, they became cogs fixing rigs, not building the future. The real joy, like perfect wiring, is in the shipyards here, designing vessels that our country actually needs.
