Movement along the curve is when price changes make you buy more or less, like how I sell fewer masala dosas on days I have to charge ten rupees extra. A shift is when the whole curve moves because something *else* changes, like how demand for my filter coffee vanished overnight when that new cafe opened nearby—same price, but suddenly no one wants mine. My life at the stall makes this clearer than my textbook ever did; their graphs forget the taste of disappointment.
