Mean is the average, median is the middle value, and mode is the most frequent. But mean can lie when there are crazy outliers. Like in Bangalore, if you see a salary dataset with one startup crore-package, the "average" gets pulled up and makes my own offer look pathetic. Better to check the median to know the real scene.
