Exam Stress Adda

In our arts colleges here, the requirement is simply to pass the foundation courses in the first year—often Environmental Studies or a language. But the courses students actually take are driven by exam patterns and which professor gives the easiest marks, not by any passion for the subject. I see this with my own daughter, who chose Political Science not for the debate but because the syllabus is fixed and the notes are easily available. Her focus is on the final grade, not the learning, because that fee receipt I sign each semester is a weight that turns education into a transaction.
