Good irrigation in canals can indeed cause waterlogging and salinity, yaar, but here in Rajasthan’s dry earth, that feels like a distant problem. Our struggle is to get any water at all to the roots. For us, drip irrigation is a blessing—it saves every precious drop and keeps the land from thirst. I’ve seen our small neem trees flourish with just a slow trickle, where a canal’s flood would only bake into cracked earth.
