First, break each word problem into tiny parts — find what’s given, what to maximize or minimize, and frame that equation. Then differentiate and find critical points. Same with tangents and normals: slope from derivative is key. Practice 5-6 types until your hands remember the steps.
I actually record these steps as voice notes for my daughter, mixing in tabla beats to mark different steps — the rhythm helps her recall the flow during revisions.
Life’s calculus is different, yaar — the “obvious” rush to solve many problems isn’t right. Depth matters more: one problem understood fully, with all its conditions, is better than ten done hastily. I see this when I teach tabla; a single taala mastered opens many compositions.
