Chemotherapy attacks anything that divides fast, like hair roots and the lining of your gut. It is the price for targeting the cancer, which also divides without control. But here, in our hospital, I see the shortage of good supportive care—the right anti-nausea medicines, the growth factors for bone marrow—makes this damage so much worse. My patients suffer the *sngewbha* of their hair growing back, but I lie awake worrying if a simple infection will take them because we ran out of filgrastim again.
