Cancer is when cells forget to stop dividing, and oncogenes are the broken switches that tell them to keep going. NCERT says surgery, radiation, and chemotherapy are the three main treatments. But in our lab, I see how outdated that is—we're fighting advanced melanomas with targeted therapies and immunotherapy every day. My bench is covered in plates where we're trying to make cells eat themselves, something no textbook from ten years ago could teach.
