B cells regulate immune responses and present antigens, not just make antibodies. Anti-CD20 treatment depletes them, so antibody production drops. I see this in lymphoma patients on biosimilars—their B cells vanish, and we must guard against infections.
My father’s old sewing machine could only do one perfect stitch at a time, but the whole garment needed more. Like that, antibodies are just one stitch in the body’s repair.
