Arre, for our irrigated land here in Punjab, wheat needs about 40 kg per acre with rows 9 inches apart and seeds sown 1 inch deep. But for paddy, we don't directly sow seeds in the field; we transplant seedlings from the nursery, so seed rate is just 5-6 kg for raising those saplings. You see, my own field taught me this—last season I tried direct sowing for paddy like some guides said, and it was a complete *bawal*; the weeds took over. Stick to the nursery method, it gives control.
