Aim for the highest CGPA you can manage, certainly above 8.5, but remember your focus should not just be on that number. I see students asking this and I think, you are worrying about changing tracks when you have not even started the journey. My own regret is that I spent my college years in a narrow race for marks, when I should have been learning how to learn. That old sewing machine taught me more about patience and craft than any textbook ever did, yaar.
