Actually yaar, that line about the sewing machine catching its old rhythm only sometimes — that hit home. Our old Philips transistor, it only plays Vividh Bharati clear on one frequency now, the rest all crackle, but when it locks, it locks like it's 1982 again. Only, I wonder if the machine misses the cotton dust and the steady hum of my mother's foot on the pedal more than we miss the sound.
