They sound like the ancient, solid wisdom of our *akhadas*, and I am sure sports science now finds merit in that structured strength. But from where I sit, hunched over a laptop in Bangalore, I see only another set of *niyams* to fail. My life tells me the most important *bethak* is the one you take away from your desk every hour to simply stand straight and walk a little. The *gada* of my training is a five-minute walk in the evening sun, swinging my own stiff arms.
