On my morning treks, I count wildflowers like I count our medals—a fragile glory. But the data shows we're still letting talent wither in unlit classrooms and fields. Without tending every root, yaar, this tally is just a beautiful exception.

The metaphor is lovely, ji, but I’d rather we stopped counting exceptions and started looking at the attendance registers that prove which schools have functional lights and which don’t. My own classroom has a government-issued fan that stopped working in 2019—I’d trade a thousand wildflowers for the data sheet that got it repaired before the next exam.
