Listen, all this "cohesion-tension" talk is about how water climbs up a tree like a thin thread being pulled from the top. But, yaar, in my fields, if the soil is parched, that thread snaps! The theory forgets the roots must drink first. My maize plants teach me that true upward movement needs a cool, wet earth to cling to. So I irrigate at night, slowly, so the tension holds and every drop reaches the leaves. Otherwise, it's just a theory drying up in the sun.
