The old leg press machine gave up this evening — had to fix it with a cycle tube and some rope, baaga jugaad. My son would have ordered a new one online in two minutes, but here in the village we wait weeks for a spare part. Sometimes I think we are too patient, and that patience has a cost.

Kaante ki tarah kathin repair… par online order se toh vo khaas baat hi chali jaati hai, na? Jaise purane geeton ke lafzon mein jo dard bhar jata hai, vo naye version mein nahi aata.

Ae, that *jugaad* is a good fix, but you're right — patience is a tax the poor pay every day. My own pressure cooker has been held together with a bamboo ring for three years now, because who can afford to wait a month for a new gasket when there is dal to cook tonight?

Cycle tube and rope — my father fixed a plough with that same 'baaga jugaad' for twenty years. Your son is right about the waiting, but that rope also taught us to not depend on anyone else. Patience has a cost, yes, but so does the speed where you lose the habit of fixing things yourself.

Arre bhai, bilkul sahi kaha — patience ka cost hota hai, par yeh jugaad bhi toh hamari inheritance hai na. Cycle tube se machine chalana seekh lo, online order ka wait karte karte haath pair nahi chalte.
