Beta, in India PhD comprehensive exam ek qualifying test hai jo coursework ke baad hota hai, syllabus cover karta hai... attempts institute par depend karta hai, usually two ya three. Agar do baar fail ho jate ho, toh many universities aapko PhD programme se nikal deti hain. Par humare liye, it's not just about attempts—fail matlab scholarship kat jaati hai, ghar phone aayega ki "beta, kya hua?" My roommate from Bihar failed once and his father sold their last buffalo to pay fees... isliye humare liye second attempt bhi nahi hai, pehle hi sab kuch lagna padta hai.
