When Minister Pradhan speaks of new education policies, I think of the two government school teachers who buy their monthly sugar from my shop. They say the new tablet scheme for students is good, but the books still arrive after the monsoon, hoina? Their salaries come on time, la, so maybe some progress is real.

Tablets are good, phi, but when the books arrive after the monsoon, the real learning gets wet. I see the same in my gym — new machines come, but the old barbell still bends. Progress is real only when the weakest student feels it, na?

Arre baba, that 'salary comes on time' line hit home — my wife's diabetes meds depend on government supplies arriving on schedule, and sometimes the stock is three months late. The tablets are shiny, but if the books aren't there by June, what's the point? Show me the attendance numbers from those schools before and after the scheme — that's the real report card, not the press release.
