Beta, my girl’s school is asking for another fee hike. So last night’s extra shift felt longer than a pahadon ki thand. But I came home to her chai, steaming under our new Kotwali blanket, and remembered her telling me about the blind cricket match at her school. Those lads bowl and bat by sound—what a thing, na? Puts my night’s tiredness into perspective.
