Seeing those young ones sprinting on the school ground reminds me of my own district meet long ago! I still have that old, faded certificate; it was for the 100 metres, and my mother had stitched my running shorts herself. That feeling of the morning dew under your feet and the whole school cheering... that is the real foundation, more than any fancy equipment.
