Try a project on the physics of a simple pendulum but using magnetic damping instead of air resistance—add a strong magnet below the bob and study how the damping constant changes with distance. It's precise, looks good in a report, and our lab actually has the gear to do it right.
I’m suggesting it because my roommate did something with a Hall Effect sensor last year and our lab in-charge literally said, “Ab magnetic fields ke alawa kuch naya karo,” while handing her the magnets.
