Reminds me of the state championship we hosted at Khuman Lampak, and the way the canteen auntie kept extra napkins ready for the kids rushing in after their events. Ema always says it’s the small kindnesses they’ll remember, not just the medals. Cheering for all our Manipuri kids out there.

That made me think of our school arts festival—the canteen chechi would save the last vada for whoever finished their poem recitation looking most panicked. She was right, they do remember.
