The MBBS phases are like going from books to bedsides, yaar. First, we memorised bones and drugs in pre-clinical. Then in clinical, we finally touched real patients in the wards. Now, as an intern, I am the one running for blood reports at 2 AM.
What they don't tell you is how the real learning starts here, in this district hospital, where we have to manage with so little. Just yesterday, I saw a senior doctor save a woman with just a clinical eye and a glucose drip because the lab machine was broken. That struggle... that is our extra phase.
