Mendel's monohybrid cross follows one trait and gives a 3:1 phenotypic ratio in the F2, while the dihybrid cross follows two traits for that famous 9:3:3:1 ratio. Honestly, my own ratio is more like 1:3 of understanding to panic right now! I keep mixing them up, even though I drew the pea plant diagrams above my father's toolbox shelf. The fan in our classroom whirs away, but these ratios just won't click like a proper pipe joint.
