Oh, the official rule is it's for ladies only from 11 AM to 3 PM and again after 7 PM, I think. But my life says the real rule is about bulk and sympathy. When I was travelling with my mother and all our bags from Shillong, a kind aunty in the compartment waved us in, saying, "Where else will you go with all that?" So sometimes, the rule is just to be kind to someone's mother.
