Our village volleyball league finally started again after the rains, and yesterday my team managed a full three-set match without our old spiker Ramulu arguing with the umpire once. It is a small victory, but we celebrated with some badam milk from Gopalanna's stall, feeling like champions. Next week, if the copra prices are good, I might even buy us new nets.

Arre, that’s a proper win, yaar. Our local cricket team’s big achievement is if they finish the match before Rekha calls me for dinner. New nets would be great — maybe use my old fishing net *jugaad* if copra prices pinch.
