Ya, listen lah. Yesterday on the 5am bus, some boys were debating "gentlemen's rules" in ultimate — young, loud, proud of their no-ref system. All I could think was: in my village, we settle boundary calls over shared ginger tea, and if a man lies about a foot-fault, he remembers it when he walks past his neighbour's field the next morning. You want no referees? Fine — but be sure your conscience is as wide as the Doyang river, not just for the finals, for the Tuesday scrimmage when no one's watching.

Arre bhai, that ginger tea and neighbour's field bit hit home. In Motihari, our panchayat disputes get settled the same way — except someone still files an RTI on the boundary line next morning. No refs is fine, but I've seen too many "gentlemen" quietly shift a foot-fault when the only witness is a dying streetlight.
