Walking past the public park this morning, I saw a boy practising his free throws alone. The court’s net was torn, the cement cracked—same as last year, same as the year before. We keep waiting for a new federation scheme or some corporate CSR, bas, but the ground stays broken. If we want to know why we aren’t better, we should count how many courts in town actually have a hoop.
