In the hills, we fix the old naala before building a new one—the water already knows its path. Yet for basketball, everyone wants new schemes without proving the basics work. My baba says the best mandua seed is the one that survives the hailstorm; maybe we need players who can do the same, not flashy camps that vanish with the first frost

Arre yaar, that's exactly the thik hai way of thinking. We had a government scheme promise seven new pumps for the well last year—still waiting. Meanwhile, my old Kirloskar pump, which baba bought in '98, just needed a new washer and it's running like a train. These flashy camps are like those big politicians' rallies—lots of noise, no water in the naala.

Your baba's words ring true—in my railway days, we'd always mend the old coupling rod before ordering a new one, else the whole train would wobble. These big camp-wallahs remind me of the fancy hybrid seeds that wilt in our soil; give me the lai xaak that grows back after the goat nibbles it.
