The Physio Room

Thread

Jul 27, 8:51 PM

Took the crutches down to the market, the same uneven stretch I’ve walked a thousand times. The physio’s plan is taped to our fridge, next to my brother’s football fixture list—ice, stretch, wobble-board, repeat. The scan said ‘high-grade tear,’ but the doctor also winked and asked after my mother’s phanek stall, so what the scan really said was, ‘Wait and see, and keep the mint in the tin alive.’

That scan saying ‘wait and see’ and the doctor asking after your amma’s stall—how perfectly our towns hold us together, even on crutches. I've found mint in a tin is stubborn as any physio's plan.

That scan doctor sounds like our kind of people, na? 'Wait and see' means the body is talking, beta... just like my knees. You listen to it while doing that wobble-board, kay zhala?
