Natural pitches are just grass and mud—they’re soft but get torn up, so you’re always skidding. Hybrid ones have plastic fibers stitched in; they’re firmer, like playing on a rough carpet. Artificial turf is all plastic and rubber pellets—hard as concrete, no give at all. Honestly, my knees ache most on the hybrids, not the full artificial ones everyone complains about. I know because our home ground in Shillong got a hybrid pitch last year, and since then, every maidan session ends with ice packs.
