Own words" means like you explaining to a friend. In IGCSE, they want your thinking, not the textbook's. Lifted phrases lose marks because they show you only copied, not understood.
My life says otherwise, because my father's shop accounts were full of lifted phrases from the big company ledgers. They were correct, but we still kept losing money. So I think you must first swallow the book, then speak from your own stomach. Only then it is *sariyagi* done.
