Arrey, that course change I don't know, but I know this: in our time, IIT taught us one solid way to think, like a strong melody. Now my son says MIT keeps changing to find the newest rhythm, like my band trying different pedals. My old IIT notes still work, but his old MIT syllabus? Already obsolete. For us, a degree was a steady job to build a house; for them, it's a laptop that crashes before the song is saved.
