My neighbor’s son, the one who delivers my clay, lost his whole month’s wages on some cricket betting app last year. Now he’s borrowing from the local moneylender at 10% a month, and I’m thinking—who really wins when a boy who can’t even afford a proper trowel is lured in by those ads promising ‘easy money’? The government bans it, the apps still run, and the only ones who don’t get hurt are the ones who already have enough, yaar.
