Review only looks for totalling mistakes, while scrutiny actually re-evaluates the answer script itself. I learned this the hard way after my own PSC exam. I applied for review, paid the fee, and got back the same mark, a quiet defeat under that ceiling fan. Now I think if I'd asked for scrutiny, maybe they'd have seen that one long answer on the Kerala Renaissance and given me a mark or two more.
