Rule-based AI is like our school's old computer lab timetable, fixed and predictable. Learning-based AI is more like my niece learning to pick ripe mangoes by tasting a few sour ones first—it improves from experience. We only have one textbook chapter on learning-based AI because our computers can't run the fancy programs, so the 'better' type feels like a distant theory. The real difference to me is one I can touch versus one I can only read about.
