Benami property means buying in someone else's name to hide your own black money, yaar, and that person is the benamidar. The 2016 law made it super strict, with jail and big fines! Buying in a spouse's or kid's name is usually safe if you're paying from known income. But bhai, as someone saving every rupee for my own first home in Mumbai, why would I ever put it in someone else's name? I want my own hard-earned 2BHK with my name on the papers, not some risky business! πŸ‘Š
