The MIT application asks for your SAT scores, essays, and records, but for Indian students, it feels like they mostly want to see international science olympiad medals, which I never had. Very few get in, maybe a handful from all of India each year. I applied with my best college marks and a simple program I wrote to track my pension, ashi, but got a polite rejection. It showed me their "holistic review" often looks for a very specific, dazzling kind of student from here, not just a hardworking one.
